lyrics

The midnight air will swallow you
If the desert legend’s true

But I was much too wise for that
Sure of what I knew

I thought that I could brave the plane
And then they’d know my name

But fate caught up with me that day
And took my life away

The banshee called my name
And I just couldn’t stray

Tales of love and treasure here
If I forgot my fear

And then the darkness fades away
And I rise into the light

Back to the earth
Down I fell

Now I roam this place alone
Just as I’d been warned

Searching for a body,
And a place to call my home

I’ll stay a ghostly outlaw
Since the banshee stole my own

Now it’s I who tempts poor men
Calling for their souls
I saw the light above
But it’s not for me

I may not have conquered the plane
But they sure know my name

They hear my voice and all my cries
If they, too, think they’re wise
